about the artist
Janine Paulson is a Chicago-based jewelry artist who first began working in metals in 2018. They were hired as an apprentice at David I. Helfer, an iconic jewelry store in the heart of Pittsburgh's jewelry district, where they got formal training. They began creating their own pieces in their spare time, starting modestly using stainless steel and cold connections, and gradually improved their craft, eventually employing silver and a deep focus on lost wax castings.
Now located in Chicago, Janines work is influenced by small delights, pleasure, and the choice to create ones own reality. They use their extensive training in different forms of fabrication to create all their work.
